3D is taking over the way we watch video. DirecTV is now in on it, announcing that they will provide 3D viewing on 3 dedicated ESPN channels.

ESPN 3D as it’s called, will launch on June 11th showing the first match of the World Cup, featuring South Africa versus Mexico. In 2011, look for ESPN 3D to have events such as the college football ACC championship, the 2011 BCS National Championship game, college basketball and NBA games.ESPN 3D looks to at least 85 sporting events in the first year. If you’re already a DirecTV HD customer who subscribes to ESPN, the service will come courtesy, but you will need 3D glasses and a 3D TV to get the experience.
