Summary of Apple’s redesigned iPods

  • At a press announcement yesterday Apple announced some changes. Here’s some quick points on the changes to the new iPods


    iPod Shuffle: The buttons are back on the shuffle. Newly added to the Shuffle is the new VoiceOver button which lets you hear the song title, playlist name or battery status. Shuffle will be sold in five colors at $49 for 2GB.


    iPod Nano: The biggest and most obvious changes here are the drastically reduced size and the addition of a touch screen. Apple also took away the video camera option, and for now it looks as though there is no video playback. The battery has enough life in it for 24 hours of playback.Nano will be sold in 7 colors $149 for 8GB $179 for 16GB


    iPod Touch: The new iPod touch basically becomes an iphone without the radio signal to make calls. Apple adds two camera’s to the iPod touch, which means owners can now participate in FaceTime video calling with the forward facing camera. The camera on the back is capable of HD recording. iPod Touch also adds the retina display which packs more pixels onto the device and adds a more visually beautiful experience. Also the new Game Center app on iPod touch lets you expand your social gaming network.Prices are $229 for the 8GB $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for the 64GB
