Skype Introduces Ten-Way Video Calls
-
Skype has released an exciting new beta for it’s service. The highlight of this beta is the ability to have video chat services with up to ten people simultaneously. Everyone on the video call must be running the most up-to-date version of Skype for the call to work. For a brief time, this feature will be free, but expect to see a charge added moving forward. The latest iteration of Skype also comes with offline messaging, improvements to both the quality and reliability of calls, and a revamped user interface that Skype says is sleeker and cleaner than before.
Skype Home has also been added to this latest version. This is a location where you can follow your contacts’ mood messages, set your profile picture and mood message, receive account notifications and learn more about using Skype. In terms of improving the reliability of calls, the 5.0 beta 2 also includes automatic call recovery, which should help automatically reconnect Skype calls that are interrupted due to network problems.
